This slides 189 foot drop is designed to deliver anextreme thrill ride, according to its designer. This ride is said to be both terrifying and great fun. It will set a new Guinness World Record.

The ride is being called Verruckt which is German forinsane and is five feet taller than the previous record holder, a water slideat a Rio de Janeiro country club.

Verruckt is exactly 168 feet 7 inches tall and has a longerplunge than Niagara Falls.

This ride has more than a single drop. There are three experiences on thisride: start with a three second freefall before launching into a weightless state for a couple of seconds, and thencome down like a roller coaster, with a long splash at the end.

Officials report that top speeds on Verruckt will reach 40to 50 miles per hour which is a little slower than originally planned. The slower speed proved necessary toaccommodate an increased weight limit for riders.

When this ride was first builtits designer found that the ride was too steep and too short. The ride was then re-designed and requiredthe tearing down of two thirds of the slide.

This ride is expected toattract thrill seekers from around the world.

Climbing the stairs to the topof the ride will be challenging. Thereare 260 steps to the top, equal to about 17 stories.
