Las Vegas Keeps Upping the Ante

Las Vegas deservedly relishes its reputation as a destinationthat can be reached and enjoyed via a variety of cheap traveloptions, including cheapairplane tickets, discount hotel rooms and cheap vacation packages. In 2015 this city will take a fresh look atnightlife, introduce a giant country residency, and kick off a new musicfestival.

The following are the most anticipated new Vegas openings in2015, according to Grace Bascos:

  • Rock inRio will be a massive festival introduced on May 8-9 and 15-16. The 85,000 person capacity City of Rock willcome with massive stages and three Rock Streets that will feature the sightsand sounds of Brazil, the U.K. and the USA. Headliners will include Deftones, John Legend, Linkin Park, Man,Metallica, No Doubt, Rise Against, and Taylor Swift.

  • GrandBazaar Shops will further strengthen the Strips outdoor retail pull and openin the first quarter of 2015 adjacent to Ballys on the citys busiest cornerat Boulevard and Flamingo. This 21stcentury bazaar combines contemporary, interactive shopping with dynamiteattractions, and outstanding dining options. A 14 foot structure made of 924 custom-cut Swarovski crystal sphereswill dazzle visitors every night. Like areal bazaar, shoppers will be able to design their own sandals, barter forlower prices, and enjoy live entertainment.

  • Omniawill replace Pure (at Caesars Palace) which was one of Las Vegas firstmegaclubs. The 75,000 foot, multi-levelcomplex is being transformed and will offer an intimate ultra-lounge, rooftopgarden and terrace with fabulous views of the Strip. Omnia wants to be driven by its customerswishes, whether that is EDM coming from behind the decks, a live performer, orcelebrity hosts.

  • TheSearsucker will open its first Vegas restaurant right next to Omnia. Diners will be presented with a former topChef contestants (Brian Malarkey) take on classic American comfort food,including his signature eggs and bacon, which involves a poached egg and brownbutter hollandaise sauce, beer braised short ribs, and a 38 ounce Tomahawk ribeye.

  • Reba andBrooks & Dunn will be together and make a big splash during their newresidency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. While this duo collaborated with McEntire on their 2008 song CowgirlsDont Cry, the idea of doing a show together in Vegas is something they havelong discussed. Their show will kick offon June 24th, with select dates in July and December.
