Theme Park Insiders website annually identifies the highest rated theme park, new attraction, table service restaurant and on site hotel, determined by its readers ratings over the prior 12 months. Islands of Adventure snagged the best theme park award for its second consecutive year. Runners up were Busch Gardens Tampa and Disney California Adventure. The Disney park had fallen in recent years rankings but seen its ratings rise recently as it moves forward with over a $1 billion in improvements.
Disneylands Star Tours: The Adventures Continue and Disneys Hollywood Studios were rated the best theme park attractions of 2011. Coasters continue to be popular, with Busch Gardens Tampas new Cheetah Hunt and Texas Giant, the reconstructed Six Flags Over Texas classic wooden coaster being recognized.
The best theme park restaurant went to Walt Disney World Epcots Bistro De Paris for the second consecutive year. Runners up included Mythos at Universals Islands of Adventure and for the first time Epcots Via Napoli.
Three hotels were recognized as the best resort hotels within walking distance from their respective parks. Top rated was Disneys Grand Californian Hotel at the Disneyland Resort, with Universals Portofino Bay Resort and Disneys Beach Club Resort coming in second and third respectively. www.cheapfares.com
