Airspace Rolling out Airline Neutral Lounges

As nice as it is to travel via cheap airplane tickets and cheap vacation packages, sometimes it is frustrating waiting for flights in crowded airports, overpaying for food, and having to pay for Internet access which is sometimes unreliable.

Airspace Lounge has announced that it will add a lounge to JetBlues Terminal 5 at New JFK Airport in May and hopes to add as many as 40 more lounges at airports across America.

The JFK lounge will be close to gate 24 at Terminal 5 which handles 13 million passengers each year. Hawaiian Airlines also flies out of Terminal 5 and Irelands Aer Lingus will start flying out of this terminal in April.

Airspace introduced its first lounge at Baltimore-Washington international Airport in May 2011. Its lounges are designed to appeal to both elite and coach travelers flying on any airline so long as they are willing to pay a daily entrance fee.

The lounges daily fee is currently set at $20 though the company says it may be a little more expensive in the New York market. Visitors at an Airspace Lounge can enjoy a sandwich, alcoholic drink at the bar or complimentary soft drinks, wireless service, and access to showers.

Airspace has been purchased by airport operator Swissport and plans to open a second location at Cleveland in late March.
