Airport Privacy Enhanced Underwear

Although most travelers are eager to take advantage of cheap airplane tickets and cheap vacation packages, some do not like the idea that screeners are able to view private parts of their bodies when they go through full-body scanners at airport checkpoints. A new apparel line has been introduced that protects travelers modesty while claiming not to cause problems while going through full-body scanners at airports.

The new company, called ScannerShirts, is selling clothes that have strategically placed patriotic emblems made of a special ink that is supposed to blur out a persons private parts in the image on the scanning machine. This company claims to be offering privacy wear for family travel with womens shirts that have stars over the nipples and childrens shirts with emblems at the bottom that cover genitals.

Briefs and boxers with U.S. or eagle themed logos in the front are also available.

Other companies are selling metallic ink clothing via the Internet that supposedly addresses the same concern. Some of these clothes have the Fourth Amendment, which is the Constitutional guarantee against unreasonable search, printed on them.

The Transportation Security Administration has refused comment on whether this type of clothing actually blurs a persons image, but noted that anything unusual detected by airport scanners could cause travelers to be required to go through additional screening.
