World’s Finest Hotels

Sometimes even affluent travelers are willing to take advantage of available cheap travel options such as cheap airplane tickets so that they are able to better afford staying in world class hotels.

For the 10th consecutive year Travel & Leisure (T&L) readers have voted on the best hotels based on rooms, location, service, food, and value, with 500 hotels worldwide being recognized. The highest rated hotel for value was the Uruguay Four Seasons Carmelo, an easy trip from Buenos Aires, whose suites and bungalows are strung along the beach between a eucalyptus forest and the Rio de la Plata.

Africa witnessed an increase in the number of high scoring hotels, with nine hotels in the top 25. Singita Grumeti Reserves earned the top ranking and is located on an impressive plateau in Tanzanias Serengeti National Park. This hotel recently started offering a mobile safari adventure in the 340,000 acre concession.

Once again California had the largest percentage of top T&L hotels in the United States, with 37 winners. Floridas highest rated property was the Little Palm Island Resort & Spa which is located on Little Torch Key which is a secluded private island. This hotel is famous for its special touches like its Sandbar Sessions concerts and private picnics on nearby deserted islands.

The number 5 rated Oberoi Urdaivilas, in India, offers nine lakeside rooms which face a nature conservancy, affording guests views of deer, peacocks, and wild boar.
