Cheap airplane tickets, and possibly down the road cheap vacation packages, will be offered as a result of Vision Airlines decision to add scheduled passenger service in major markets. In December Vision will commence regularly scheduled flights between Atlanta and Louisville, Kentucky.
On December 13th Vision will start flying two daily round trip flights between Atlanta and Louisville using 32 seat Dornier 328 turboprops. Vision said that it selected this route because it is currently a high fare route and customers are clamoring for a lower fare option.
Visions one way fares between Atlanta and Louisville will be as low as $99 each way, plus taxes and fees, and be no higher than $199 each way, not including taxes and fees.
At present Delta is the only airline offering nonstop service on this route and has tickets available at $328 for one way flights on December 13th. Nonstop walk-up fares between Atlanta and Louisville are selling for as much as $433 one way.
Since Vision first started flying in 1994, it has primarily flown charter service, though it has offered limited scheduled passenger service out of small airports in Nevada and the Desert Southwest.
Vision is considering adding service to other bigger markets in the Southeast and is expecting to announce expansion plans in December. Up to a dozen new cities will be announced, including Florida leisure destinations.
