Think Twice Before Cursing an Airline

Dont believe that your right to free speech and the purchase of cheap airplane tickets or cheap vacation packages gives you the right to curse about airline service. Robert Sayegh was recently removed from a flight from Detroit to Newark operated by a Delta regional subsidiary because he used the F-word twice while discussing delays affecting the flight.

Sayegh claims that his curses were made to a fellow passenger and not directed at the crew. One of the two instances occurred after the flight had been waiting at the gate for almost 45 minutes. An attendant overheard Sayegh say Whats taking so (expletive) long to close the overhead compartments?

The plane eventually taxied to the runway but then returned where airport police were waiting to escort Sayegh off the plane. Im like, Are they throwing me off the plane? Sayegh related. This is the most ridiculous thing Ive ever been through in my life. Its embarrassing.

Sayegh said that the complaining flight attendant should not have a job where he has to deal with people.

The Delta Connection regional carrier, Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA), which operated the flight is not owned by Delta. ASA said that it was conducting an internal investigation into the incident and apologized for any inconvenience that was caused.

Deltas contract of carriage states that it can refuse to transport a flier when the passengers conduct is disorderly, abusive or violent. Also a passenger can be removed if he or she appears to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs or attempts to interfere with any member of the flight crew in pursuit of his or her duties.

Sayegh admitted to being hung-over, but claims he was not drunk. www.cheapfares.com
