The Rush Is On To Attain Elite Travel Status

Ever thought about purchasing cheap airfares for the sole reason of earning enough frequent flier miles to achieve a certain level of elite airline status? Each December thousands of frequent fliers purchase such airfare solely for this reason. The incentive: earning free upgrades, expedited check in and boarding privileges, waived fees for such things as checked bags, plus other perks.

Earning those final frequent flier miles needed to achieve elite status has never been easier, because of the significant drop in business travel and an increase in frequent flier promotions targeted to retain loyal fliers. So long as you fly by December 15th, Continental, United, and American are giving customers twice the amount of mileage credit for each mile that they travel.

Airlines hate to have travelers who have previously earned elite status lose that status for a coming year because that loss makes those fliers free agents for the next year. Airlines want to do everything possible to prevent their historically best customers from shifting to another airlines frequent flier program.

You can be certain cheap hotel rooms will also be snapped up in December to ensure that customers retain or earn their elite status with hotels. It will be a race to the finish and this time determined travelers are certain to win.
