“Premium” Food for a Price in International Coach

US Airways known to offer cheap airplane tickets and cheap vacation packages, claims now to the first US airline to offer coach class passengers a premium meal option on international flights for $19.99.

US Airways international DineFresh option will allow coach passengers to pay extra to choose between a vegetarian meal that includes Portobello mushroom tortellini and turtle cheesecake or a meat option that comes with citrus marinated chicken skewers, seasonal grilled vegetables, classic shrimp cocktail, and crme brulee cheesecake. The new DineFresh meal option will be paired with complimentary wine.

US Airways will continue to offer complimentary meals on international flights in coach. It claims to have come out with its DineFresh option to offer coach passengers the option of paying for a higher quality meal. Passengers who order a DineFresh meal will not receive the complimentary meal offered to other coach passengers.

In order to take advantage of the DineFresh option passengers will have to reserve and purchase that meal a minimum of 24 hours prior to their flights departure.

Passengers who upgrade to Envoy within 24 hours of their scheduled departure will not be able to cancel their DineFresh orders. Customers who upgrade more than 24 hours prior to departure can receive a full refund if the airline is notified at that time.

If you see a DineFresh meal option online that you are unable to order, it is likely that this is either because your flight leaves in less than 24 hours and you have missed the pre-order window or the airline has received the maximum number of orders that can be offered for that flight. www.cheapfares.com
