Pack like a Seasoned Traveler

After having found cheap airplane tickets or cheap vacation packages people who travel infrequently are sometimes stumped as to how to best pack for their upcoming trips.

The following are recommends on how to pack more efficiently from Travel & Leisure:

Use shoe bags and packing organizers. Shoe bags help keep clothes clean and shoes easy to find. Smaller items such as socks and underwear should be placed in packing cubes or plastic bags to keep things organized.

Place you heavy larger items on the bottom of your bag. Items such as shoes and pants should go at the bottom so that lighter items do not get smashed as much.

Roll your casual clothes, such as jeans, tee shirts, and belts so that you maximize what can be fit in your bag.

Do not overpack. Bring no more than three pairs of shoes, packing two and wearing your heaviest while traveling. Such things as a puffer coat can easily be squished in a bag and packs better than other coats. If you want to bring a bulkier coat, wear it on the plane.

Accessories, light clothes, and smaller items should only be packed once your heavier bulkier items are in your bag. By doing this you will have the opportunity to fill in spaces. Remember to bring liquids and lotions in 3 ounce containers packed in a zip lock bag and place the bag at the top of your bag ready to take out at security.
