Although it may not be in the budget for travelers searching for cheap airplane tickets and discount hotel rooms a San Diego hotel has come out with an offer where someone will be able to buy their own hotel for 24 hours to host the ultimate New Years Eve bash.
Hotels around San Diego are well known for their attempts to one up each other with their New Years Eve party plans. The Porto Vista Hotel, recognized for being both affordable and stylish, has decided to auction off 24 hours of exclusive use of the entire hotel on eBay.
The winning bidder will have control of the hotel from noon on December 31st until noon on January 1st, 2011. Bids start at $1,000, with the bidding going through November 26th.
To give the top bidder the feel of an owner, that person will be given keys to the hotels 189 rooms and VIP suites, access to the Glass Door restaurant with a personal chef and a meal for up to 50 guests. The winner will also be able to host up to 300 guests on the Ripassi rooftop deck, with a DJ, open bar and private cabanas thrown in.
The entire hotel staff will be at the disposal of the top bidder.
Additional ownership perks that will be included in the winning bid are having the winning bidders name emblazoned on the side of the hotel, customized business cards, and a personalized website for whomever is invited to the bash.
