New Shopping App for Airports and Malls

Experienced travelers savvy in the ways of finding cheap airplane tickets and discount hotel rooms still often face the challenge of productively spending time at airports until their flights depart. Now there is an app that can help travelers who enjoy shopping.

On the newest free version of the app Point Inside for Airports and Malls a wish list feature has been added which enables shoppers to scan the bar codes of items they want and post the details to their Facebook account. This app includes interactive maps and detailed information on retail outlets in over 100 airports across the world, as well as over 750 malls.

This app makes retail outlets travelers own gift registry. Creating a list is quick and easy. Travelers initially select their airport or mall from the Point Inside database. Next they select the store where the product can be found from an alphabetical listing.

Then the user touches an icon on an iPhone or iPod Touch and a photo screen appears. Align that with the bar code on the item you want and the app automatically fills in the name of the item, photo, description, and UPC number.

Your wish list can easily be added to Facebook by logging in and hitting a button.

This app will be particularly useful for travelers who come across wanted items at chain stores while away from home but do not have any room left in their luggage.
