Motel 6 Getting Major Facelift

Travelers who pride themselves on being cheap, and finding cheap vacation packages and discount hotel rooms, will be pleased with what they see when they visit a redesigned Motel 6. The new look was planned with value in mind and the new materials being used to update Motel 6s are no more expensive that the materials being replaced.

Motel 6 proudly admits that its facelift was done on the cheap. The goal of the upgrade was to retain the chains reputation for value but inject freshness into its rooms.

The following are some of the more noteworthy changes in the upgraded Motel 6s:

Bedspreads feature two or three solid colors.

Floors are laminate, made mostly of recycled material that looks like bamboo.

Walls are solid color, orange, blue, or green.

A 32 include flat screen TV, with plugs for guests portable electronics, is mounted on the wall.

The bed is firmer, on a platform, allowing for extra space to store bags.

In the bathroom towels are stuffed into holes in a wooden cabinet and there is a white sink raised vessel style above a dark counter.

The updated Motel 6 retains some of its most attractive old attributes including offering free local phone calls, free Wi-Fi, and Gideon Bibles in every room.

Currently between 50 to 60 Motel 6s have been updated, with an estimate of between three to five years before every location (they have over 1,000) is redone.
