Travelers valuing discount hotel rooms and discount travel packages should make a point of looking online for hotel specials on Cyber Monday, November 29th. The first Monday after Thanksgiving marks the beginning of online holiday shopping.
Starwood, among several other hotel chains, tested Cyber Monday promotions last year and experienced enough success that other hotel chains are participating in one day only deals this year.

The economy hotel chain, Red Roof, is discounting room prices by 15 percent for all reservations made on Cyber Monday that enter the code 608270. The chain is also extending a 30 percent discount for bookings made a minimum of 10 days in advance that includes staying over Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day.
The Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg is discounting its rates by 30 percent on Cyber Monday if the code DOD is entered when the reservation is made. Cyber Monday specials are good for visits through January 8th, 2011.
The Aruba Westin Resort is offering special rates on Cyber Monday through December 3rd with high season rates starting at $299. This promotion is good for visits between January 1st and April 30th, with a four night minimum stay required. Rate code is CYBERLTO.
Budget conscious Broadway Hotel & Hostel in New York City is offering 15 percent off private and semi-private guess rooms. Rate code CYBER must be entered when the reservation is made and the offer is good for reservations between Cyber Monday and December 3rd for stays through March 31st.
