Fall Hotel Promotions

Travelers ready to travel after purchasing cheap fares, including cheap airplane tickets and/or cheap auto rentals, are now being enticed to take advantage of special fall deals to help hotels fill rooms during their typically slowest selling time of the year. Marriott has announced two promotions to appeal to guests planning on weekend stays through the end of the year. This is just the latest, in a series of limited time offers that hotels are increasingly offering.

Marriott has come out with a Reclaim Your Weekend promotion whereby a weekend stay will earn the guest a free breakfast for two adults and a $100 coupon that can be redeemed for a future two night weekend stay. This promotion includes five Marriott chains: Courtyard, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels, and Residence Inn.

To qualify reservations must be made by October 11th for stays between October 14th and January 2nd, 2011.

Marriott is also offering a different deal whereby guests can take advantage of a 25 percent off promotion which is limited to Marriotts Courtyard and Residence Inn chains. Reservations must be completed by October 11th for a two, consecutive weekend night stay (defined as Thursday through Sunday) between October 14th and January 2nd.

Country Inn and Suites is offering bonus loyalty points for select reservations. Goldpoints plus hotel members who make a reservation at a specific rate through November 21st for any Sunday through Thursday will receive 15,000 additional loyalty points, which is enough for a free night at select Country Inns & Suites hotels. They will also be given at U.S. locations only, a voucher good at TGI Fridays restaurants.

A word to the wise concerning both of the above promotions. Although the vast majority of the individual hotels making up each chain mentioned are participating in these promotions, select individual properties have the right to opt out.

Major travel Internet companies often indicate such promotions next to each hotel they display. When this is not the case, travelers should call the specific hotel prior to making the reservation to confirm its participation.
