Earning American Miles without Flying Just Got Easier

The only deal more attractive than cheap airplane tickets and cheap vacation packages is when you fly for free by redeeming frequent flier mileage. American Airlines is making it easier than ever to earn American frequent flier miles.

For the first time American frequent flier members will receive miles from AAdvantage eShopping traditional brick and mortar retail stores, not just online retailers. Participating retailers include Sunglasss Hut, Jos. A. Bank, Hammacher Schlemmer, Sally Beauty and Golfsmith. The list of participating retailers is expected to grow over time.

In order to take advantage of Americans expanded shopping program, their frequent flier members will have to register a credit or debit card with American Airlines and then use that card for purchases with AAdvantage eShopping retailers via the Internet, at retail stores or with retail catalogs.

American members can also earn miles through an AAdvantage Dining program that includes thousands of participating restaurants which offer AAdvantage miles when members dine at those restaurants.

Other airlines, including Delta, have progressively added more ways for their frequent fliers to earn miles when they shop, and the opportunity to redeem their reward miles for things other than free plane tickets and upgrades.
