Cheap Airplane Tickets are on Sale Now

Once the travel crunch of the Holidays is over, it is typically an ideal time to take advantage of cheap airline tickets and even lower priced cheap vacation packages.

Virgin America announced Tuesday, 1/5, that it its cuttings its prices on selected seats for travel through mid June, joining an increased number of airlines that are offering fare cuts to encourage more people to fly.

Virgin America is offering selective lower prices on three day advance purse tickets bought by Monday, 1/11, for travel through June 20th.

Some of their most attractive pricing is for one way tickets between San Francisco and Los Angeles (priced at $39) and between New York and Los Angeles (priced at $109).

Previously this week price sales have been announced by Jet Blue and Frontier.

To try to counter the pressure on airlines to reduce prices, most airlines have been mothballing planes and reducing the overall number of flights available.

Ironically, several of the large airlines, including United, American, US Airways, and Delta increased their prices within the last week by up to $10 round trip on routes where they do not face discount airlines.
