Boeing’s Dreamliner 787 Will Change Flying

Cheap airplane tickets and cheap vacation packages are great but frequent fliers often complain about having to waste time connecting while flying to reach their destinations. Boeings new Dreamliner 787 will be welcomed by such fliers because of its range.

The Dreamliner jet is the worlds first mid-size, long range airplane. It will enable airlines to start flying routes where they do not currently have enough demand to fill larger planes like a Boeing 747 or an Airbus A380.

The Airbus A380 needs to fly between 400 to 500 passengers per trip to be profitable. The Dreamliner provides excellent seat economics in a relatively small aircraft.

The Dreamliner will enable airlines to bypass hubs and offer more direct flights as well as add flights to more scheduled options.

Another benefit of this new jet is improved passenger comfort. Boeing claims that Dreamliner passengers will feel more refreshed after flying because of the higher humidity and higher cabin pressure on board the plane. This in turn is expected to reduce common flier complaints regarding dry eyes and headaches.

The plane also sports larger windows that can be automatically tinted and larger overhead compartments.

Boeing delivered its first 787 Dreamliner to All Nippon Airways (ANA) on Monday, September 26th. It was scheduled initially to be delivered in May of 2008, but a series of technical problems led to repeated delays.
