American Offering More Choices and Destinations

The new American Airlines, which consists of both Americanand US Airways, hopes to become many travelers airline of choice in partbecause of its ability to offer cheaptravel options, such as cheap airplane tickets and cheap vacation packages.

As a result of its recent merger, American Airlines hasexpanded its network and can fly customers to 330 destinations around theworld.

Effective immediately American is making it easier forcustomers to seamlessly book select flights on American and US Airways through acodeshare agreement, which allows each airline to sell seats on flightsoperated by the other carrier.

American has also announced that its passengers can earnand redeem Dividend Miles on both American and US Airways.

The impact of Americans merger moves include:

  • Morechoices for travel to select destinations throughout North America, SouthAmerica and Europe through Americans hubs in Chicago OHare, Dallas/FortWorth, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York JFK.

  • Moreways to explore South America with Americans service to destinationsthroughout Bolivia, Brazil, Chile Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, andVenezuela, as codeshare offerings are expanded between American and US Airways.

  • Accessto Asia, where soon US Airways customers will be able to book American flightsto Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai, Tokyo, and starting this summer, Hong Kong.

Customers will need to check in with the operating airlineonline or at the airport to confirm which airline will be operating whichflights and check for gate and terminal information. Many US Airways and American gates arelocated in different terminals.

Over the next few months American and US Airways will addmore codeshare flights and expect to soon be able to provide access to almostall flights throughout its combined network.
