Alaska’s New San Diego to Honolulu Route

Alaska Airlines is well known for offering cheap airplane tickets and cheap vacation packages. Alaska Air will increase its presence in California and Hawaii by offering nonstop service on November 17th between San Diego and Honolulu, one of the nations premier vacation destinations.

The airlines will operate one Boeing 737 jet daily round trip flight. This new flight will be in addition to its continuing daily non-stop flight between San Diego and Maui which the airline began flying in October of 10. The success of Alaskas Maui route was instrumental in Alaska Air deciding to add Honolulu as a destination.

It will offer an introductory base fare of $149 each way for tickets purchased by July 25th, 2011. To celebrate its new route, Alaska Airlines is partnering with San Diego radio stations to give away a planes worth of tickets to Honolulu through July 22nd.

The Nuts for Honolulu events will encourage listeners and community members to wear Hawaiian clothing at locations to be revealed by radio stations for a chance to win 160 tickets as well as other prizes.

Alaska Airs key competitor on its new route will be Hawaiian Airlines. Experts believe there is enough passenger demand to support flights from both airlines.

Alaska Air also flies from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas (Mexico), Portland (OR), Puerto Vallarta (Mexico), and Seattle. www.cheapfares.com
