Airlines Offering Special Frequent Flier Deals

Although frequent fliers are always on the hunt for cheap airplane tickets or discount travel packages, any opportunities to fly for free faster because of bonus miles or discounted frequent flier awards are highly valued. This month three airlines (AirFrance/KLM, US Airways, and VirginAtlantic) have extended special frequent flier mileage offers.

Until the end of October Virgin Atlantic is offering 20 percent bonus miles when customers convert their American Express points into Virgin Atlantic miles.

US Airways will double the miles its customers purchase through November 15th of this year. This means that for under $1,400 a member of US Airways frequent flier program can purchase enough miles to fly business class almost anywhere US Airways or its SkyTeam alliance partner airlines fly. Mind you, frequent flier seats, which are usually very limited, must be available when you are looking to redeem your miles.

AirFrance/KLM has cut in half the number of miles required to redeem miles for tickets on dozens of routes. Flights are being offered from various U.S. cities for half of the normal miles needed using their FlyingBlue (AirFrance/KLM) frequent flier program. One of the outstanding deals being offered is the ability to fly roundtrip from Dallas to Europe in business class on KLM for only 50,000 miles or just 25,000 miles in economy.

AirFrance will fly passengers in business class from Los Angeles to Europe for 57,000 miles, or 28,700 in coach.

Reduced mileage offers are also available from Atlanta, Calgary, Chicago, Detroit, and Montreal as well as from Europe to many destinations. Date restrictions and book by dates vary by route.
