Air Passenger Removed for Saggy Pants

People planning to fly because they found cheap airplane tickets or cheap vacation packages better hike up their britches before arriving at the gate. On September 1st Green Days lead singer was forced off a flight scheduled to fly from Oakland to Burbank after a Southwest flight attendant judged his pants to be inappropriately saggy.

The indignant singer tweeted Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the (expletive)? No joke!

A flight attendant approached the singer as the plane was getting ready to depart and requested that he pull up his pants. The singer responded by asking the attendant if there were not better things to do than worry about that?

The flight attendant refused to back down and eventually had the singer removed from the flight.

Once Southwest learned of the incident it tweeted Very sorry for your experience tonight, someone from our Customer Relations Team will reach out to you to get more details.

Problems with saggy pants on planes has occurred before, most recently with a University of New Mexico student from San Francisco who was asked to pull up his pajama bottoms as he boarded a US Airways flight at San Francisco International Airport in June.

The incident raised questions regarding passenger etiquette and whether attendants should be empowered to enforce what they deem to be reasonable dress standards.

US Airways later acknowledged that the airline had no official dress code policy, but said that passengers are required to dress appropriately and follow flight crew requests. www.cheapfares.com
